A packed public meeting with standing room only in the Horners Suite at Rochdale AFC saw speaker after speaker from the floor vent their anger and frustration over the application by D P Williams (Holding) Ltd to re-open Ding Quarry.
Campaigners studying the Ding Quarry planning application have found a startling omission: no specific reference whatsoever to Scout Moor Windfarm.
Plans to re-open the dormant Ding Quarry have sparked huge controversy.
The most emotive reasons for objection arise over transportation.
Campaigners are burning the midnight oil to scrutinise the Environmental Impact Assessment documents for proposals to remove up to 28 million tonnes from the disused Ding Quarry.
Ding Quarry campaigners have launched this new web site to act as a focal point for news about the campaign to stop the quarry re-opening.

D.P.Williams is set to re-open Ding Quarry, he has applied through his agents Carter Jonas to have Rochdale Council determine the up to date working conditions to allow him to remove vast quantaties of stone from Ding Quarry.
