On the 8th October 1995, a march was organised, we started at Lane Head village. Hundreds of people joined in. It was one of the hottest days in October I can remember, it seems the sun always shined on everything we did for Ding. !! |

People from all walks of life stood together. This was a cause that affected us all, we were not prepared to allow our children, our lives to be affected by lorries using the route and jeopardising our future. |
 |
We arrived at our destination. Aldi on Edinburgh way, they had graciously allowed us the use of their car park. Our MP at the Time, Liz Lynne (now a Member of the European Parliament) gave 100% support, as did all of our councillors, many of whom attended the march. |

Thanks go to all of the Speakers. |

The Reporters followed us every step of the way. Here is Andy giving an interview... "If in the short term we have to limit extraction, then this is what we will do. This time next year... there will be no quarry wagons going down this route" |
