What is it?
Ding Quarry is a disused quarry right on the outskirts of Rochdale, that once produced stone for the building of houses, and flagstones in and around the local area, many examples of the stone flags from Ding quarry are still around today.
Where is it?
Situated 7Km to the North West of Rochdale and accessed by an ancient highway (Rooley Moor Road).
Rooley Moor is a huge tract of moorland including the four reservoirs of Greenbooth and Naden.
To the right is Whitworth, to the left is Knowl Hill and the A680 Edenfield road.
